At 2013’s Laureus World Sport Awards, the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt, used the world’s most impressive communication medium, HologramUSA3D, to collect his third World Sportsman of the Year award.
Beaming in to the glamorous ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, he thanked an audience of celebrities, sports figures and world-class athletes for the honour with the same effect and intimacy as if he was there in person. We worked with Done and Dusted to create the stunning presentation which showed off yet more HologramUSA technology developments. It was the first time we used a high resolution LED video source as well as a bespoke, innovative rigging system.
In addition holograms were produced of the show’s host Morgan Freeman, nine times Olympic gold medallist Mark Spitz and Martin Kaymer who famously made the winning putt for the European team at the 39th Ryder Cup in Medinah Country Club, Illinois.
